As the Framework is all native Talend code, you simply need to download the Zip File and import it in to a Talend Project.
You will need to import the Framework in to each of your Talend Projects.
You may import the Framework in to a new, empty project, or you may import it in to an existing project.
The Framework is suitable for all platforms that are supported by Talend.
Please remember that this is not a Talend tutorial. This documentation assumes that you do have a basic understanding of either Talend Open Studio for Data Integration, or Talend Enterprise. If you do not, there are plenty of resource that will get you going, including TalendByExample.com.
Backup Your Workspace or Project
As with installing any new software, you should backup your Talend Workspace or Project prior to installation, if you are importing the Talend Framework in to an existing Project.
Import Items is accessed via the following Talend menu: –
Repository->Job Designs->Import items
Once you have selected the Talend Framework Archive File, hit the button. You must import all Items.
Item Name Conflicts
In the unlikely event that there is a naming conflict between a Talend Framework Item, and one of your own Items (importing in to existing Projects, only), you should resolve the conflict prior to continuing with the installation. You should import all framework objects, and it will not be possible to rename them.
Item conflicts will be shown in the Errors and Warnings panel. If you have previously installed the Talend Framework in to your current Project, then you should review these conflicts to ensure that it is only Talend Framework Items that are in conflict. You should then select Overwrite existing items.
You have now, successfully, installed the Talend Framework. You can now test your installation, buy following the article on Testing your Talend Framework Installation.
